Developer mode for Roku devices
Developer mode lets you install (sideload) and test your own apps, which Roku calls “channels”, on your Roku.
What you need
Section titled “What you need”- A Roku account (https://my.roku.com).
- A Roku linked to your Roku account and connected to the internet.
- An account in the Roku Developer Program (https://developer.roku.com).
Turn on developer mode
Section titled “Turn on developer mode”-
Press
🏠hometo leave any running app. -
Press these buttons in order to open the hidden menu:

Turn on the installer.

Accept the security warning.

Read and accept the Roku SDK License Agreement.

Create a password and keep it somewhere safe. It stops others from using the development features on your Roku.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The button sequence does nothing
Section titled “The button sequence does nothing”Start from the Roku home screen and press the buttons in exactly the order shown. Point the remote straight at your Roku.
I forgot my password
Section titled “I forgot my password”Follow Turn on developer mode again to turn developer mode off, then start over with a new password.
I don’t know my Roku’s IP address
Section titled “I don’t know my Roku’s IP address”On your Roku, go to Settings → Network → About.
